The fifth novel of Edgar Rice Burroughs' famous Barsoon series. Following John Carter's adventures The Chessmen of Mars watches his daughter Tara princes of Helium running from the advances of the Prince Gahn. Flying straight into danger she is captured by the Kaldaness. Followed shortly by the Prince Gahan of Gathol only to be caught in the same storm that crashed Tara's flyer, falling overboard while trying to rescue a member of his crew. After his ordeal he finds Tara as they escape together.
