Brewster's Millions was originally published in 1902, and has been adapted into numerous plays and movies including the Richard Pryor film from the 1980s. In the novel, also a comedy, Montgomery Brewster inherits a million dollars from his grandfather, but shortly after that, his eccentric uncle passes away.
